Burning

Burning a large Straw Figure in the built up area that is modern Carshalton is fraught with danger.

Therefore we proceed in a very careful manner that we hope is still meaningful and effective..

About 7pm we will play him some music and watch him dance for the last time, then we will invite everyone to strip him and have a keepsake.

The public will then be moved back and Jack will die for another year. Then his remnants will be burnt in a brazier.

The striping and burning are a powerful thing, and the Brazier gets HOT!!, please keep an eye on your children, your friends and yourself.

We are working on schemes to burn him as a complete figure in future years, but it's still a problem!

Fire extinguishing equipment will be present throughout the day.
